Suede and the Fun Lovin Criminals have announced they are to play Reading's Rivermead Centre before the end of the year.
It will be Suede's second visit to the venue following their successful tour with Mansun during promotion for Coming Up. They are likely to be firing with all cylinders following their triumphant head-line performances at the V99 festivals, and the news that Head Music has been selling relatively poorly.
The Fun Lovin Criminals will be appearing at the Rivermead for the first time, but tickets are likely to sell out fast following their well received set at the Reading Festival on Saturday and a large local fanbase. They should be previewing material from an album of 'lounge music' and rarities which we understand is coming out at the time of their tour.
The Rivermead is by far Reading's largest indoor venue and has successfully played host to the Charlatans, Radiohead, Cast, Paul Weller and Ocean Colour Scene in recent years. Sleeper attempted to play there in 1997, but had to move the gig following poor ticket sales.
Suede play 30th October, Fun Lovin Criminals 14th December. Tickets are available from the Hexagon Box Office in person and the usual telephone agents.
